On Awgust 5, a welcoming ceremony for the participants and delegates of the Third UN Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

 

The celebration was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres, Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Young, heads and members of delegations of the countries participating in the forum, leaders and representatives of international structures, and officials of our country.

 

On the eve of the celebration, Hero-Arkadag warmly welcomed the heads of high-level delegations of the countries participating in the forum. After the ceremony of taking a joint photo against the backdrop of the official banner of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the distinguished guests proceeded to the venue of the event.

 

Addressing the participants of the celebration, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan noted that today the forum delegates witnessed a historic event held on the magnificent coast of the Caspian Sea in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

 

Having cordially welcomed in the Turkmen language the Secretary-General of the United Nations, heads of delegations, and all participants of the celebration to the sunny and hospitable Fatherland, the National Leader of the Turkmen people also noted the special significance of holding the current forum in the International Year of Peace and Trust declared by the United Nations on the initiative of Turkmenistan. In this regard, confidence was expressed that joint efforts carried out in the system of international relations, large-scale measures in the name of peace, security and sustainable development will yield positive results.

 

Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that there will be an effective exchange of opinions and positive proposals will be put forward on all aspects of the agenda of the international high-level forum, which is being held for the third time.

 

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people continued his speech in Russian, one of the official languages of the UN. Once again, on behalf of the people of Turkmenistan, warmly and cordially greeting those gathered, Hero-Arkadag expressed gratitude to everyone for participating in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

 

We perceive such a broad representation at this Forum as a sign of respect for Turkmenistan, trust and high appreciation of the role of our country in the international arena, its efforts in establishing cooperation and mutual understanding, - emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

 

"We welcome all of you, esteemed participants of the Forum, on Turkmen soil as dear and welcome guests, like-minded people and partners of Turkmenistan, united by the high goals of peace, progress and prosperity on the planet. Welcome to Turkmenistan!" – Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov concluded his welcoming speech.
