Within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with the delegation of the European Union led by the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Eduards Stiprais.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The importance of interaction at the high and highest levels in developing interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats was emphasized.
The parties noted the importance of the first Central Asia – European Union summit held in April of this year.
In addition, the parties discussed cooperation in the development of energy and transport corridors, digitalization and other areas within the framework of the EU's Global Gate strategy.
The parties noted with satisfaction the effectiveness of the regular work of the Turkmenistan-EU Joint Committee, the Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue and other cooperation mechanisms.
The EU delegation thanked the Turkmen side for its hospitality and noted that the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was organized at a high level.
