Researchers from the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan discussed best practices in creating technology parks during a study visit to Milan, Italy, from September 22–24. The visit of the Turkmen specialists was organized with the support of the OSCE, the OSCE center in Ashgabat told Takyk.

Experts from Turkmenistan met with their colleagues from the EU Commission's Joint Research Centre on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and the Polytechnic University of Milan. The meetings addressed organizational, legal, and engineering aspects related to the creation and operation of technology parks.

Members of the Turkmen delegation also learned about the activities of the technological energy park during a visit to the Parco Scientifico Tecnologico per l'Ambiente (Scientific and Technological Park for Environmental Protection) in Turin.

As Olivera Zurowack-Kuzman, Head of the Economic and Environmental Department of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, noted, this visit was organized as part of cooperation with the government of Turkmenistan in developing the renewable energy sector and energy-saving technologies.

The meetings in Italy are particularly relevant in light of Turkmenistan's adoption of the Law "On Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency" and the corresponding commitments. We are confident that the event provided an effective platform for a detailed discussion of various aspects of the creation of technological energy parks and for enhancing the potential of Turkmen specialists in this advanced field, the head of the department added.
