Toyota is preparing to debut the 13th generation Corolla in 2026. The new model will surprise with a bright exterior and a powerful GR version, Carscoops reports.
The design is inspired by the Prius, C-HR and Camry: sharp lines, a T-shaped front end with LED headlights and narrow taillights. The familiar silhouette will be complemented by elongated rear doors and a new bumper.
The interior will borrow from the Prius a digital panel and a 12.3-inch multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and AI-based voice control, as well as a panoramic roof and a spacious trunk.
The engine lineup includes a 1.5-liter engine in three versions:
aspirated 128 hp;
turbocharged 178 hp;
hybrid (HEV) with improved self-charging.
The plug-in hybrid PHEV will receive two electric motors. The GR Corolla may get a 1.6-liter turbo engine with 300 hp or a new 2.0-liter with 400 hp. The manual transmission will remain in service, although an automatic will also be added.
The bodies - sedan, hatchback and Touring wagon - will be retained. The latter may be released in a cross-version or as a GR exclusive for Japan.
