On October 1, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a regular meeting of the State Security Council. The agenda included the results of the activities of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies over the past nine months, as well as a number of issues related to ensuring national security and peace, strengthening the material and technical base of the security structures, and further improving their operations.
The first to speak was the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense, Begench Gundogdyev, who reported on the practical steps taken during the reporting period to strengthen the country's defense capability, improve the service and living conditions of military personnel, as well as the ongoing work related to conscription and the discharge of servicemen into the reserve.
The Defense Minister also presented the results of the military parade held in honor of the 34th anniversary of the sacred independence of the Motherland.
Prosecutor General Begmurat Mukhammedov reported on the outcomes of the past nine months, the comprehensive measures taken to ensure oversight of compliance with legal regulations, prosecutorial responses implemented, and the implementation of the Development Program for the Prosecutor's Office.
Minister of Internal Affairs Muhammet Hydyrov reported on the results of the Road Safety Month held in September under the motto “Traffic Safety – Peace of Our Life,” during which various events were organized aimed at preventing traffic accidents.
Next, Minister of Justice Merettagan Taganov reported on the outcomes of his ministry’s work during the reviewed period, the implementation of the ministry's Development Program, the execution of instructions given by the President of Turkmenistan to improve staff qualifications, and the preparation of proposals to further enhance the national legal framework.
Then, Chairman of the State Migration Service Amanmukhammet Sazakow reported on the work carried out since the beginning of the year, the practical steps being taken to actively implement modern methods in fulfilling the agency’s responsibilities, the successful implementation of priority tasks outlined in the agency's Development Program, and the strengthening of its human resources capacity.
The Head of State signed a document establishing corresponding military and law enforcement structures in the new etraps (districts) of the country’s velayats (provinces).
Summing up the meeting, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces emphasized that great importance is attached to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and improving the living conditions of servicemen and their families, noting that work in this direction will continue.
