On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence on September 27, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Monument of Independence — a magnificent architectural complex symbolizing the great transformations in the modern history of the Turkmen people.
Gathered at the Monument of Independence were the Chairperson of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads of ministries and departments, military and law enforcement agencies, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, mayors (hyakims) of the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, regional governors (velayat hyakims), representatives of public organizations, media outlets, respected elders and silver-haired mothers, students, and numerous residents of the capital.
The President’s motorcade arrived at the festively decorated square in front of the Monument of Independence. The head of state was warmly welcomed by the gathered crowd.
The President of Turkmenistan laid a beautiful wreath at the Monument of Independence — a symbol of the country’s freedom and sovereignty. Following the head of state, other participants of the ceremony also laid bouquets of flowers.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly bid farewell to the participants and departed the venue.
