The Open Joint-Stock Company “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” has organized the dispatch of a test container train bound for the international seaport of Baku. The train was formed in the Chinese city of Zhejiang and was shipped aboard a Turkmen national feeder vessel to the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.
The 50-car train, consisting of 40-foot containers, traveled through the territory of Kazakhstan and entered Turkmenistan via a border railway crossing.
The Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan continues to carry out large-scale freight transportation as part of international multimodal transport and transit corridors.
The Center was established by Presidential Decree of Turkmenistan dated July 31, 2018. Its main objectives include the development of the national transport and logistics system, increasing the volume of transit transportation, and devising efficient logistics solutions for delivering transit and import-export cargo from sender to recipient.
