A young talent from Turkmenistan, Osman Hamrakulyev, won a brilliant victory at the International Open Chess Tournament "Golden Apricot of Malatya", which ended recently in the Turkish city of the same name. The competition was attended by 486 chess players from Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Morocco, Syria, Turkey. This was reported to the Takyk Ulgam news service by the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan.

Osman became the winner in the "B" category, where 122 participants competed. He scored 7.5 points out of 9 possible, demonstrating a stable and confident game throughout all nine rounds.

It should be noted that this is not the first victory for the young chess player in 2025. Earlier, Osman took the 2nd place in the tournament in Cappadocia, held from August 18 to 24, in the age category under 12. And before that, in June, at the international tournament in the rapid discipline "Ashgabat 2025", he won the 3rd place.

Such achievements confirm the high level of training and undeniable talent of Osman. The young talent studies under the guidance of international grandmaster Maksat Atabayev and is a student of the capital's Specialized Chess and Checkers School. Osman diligently combines success in sports with excellent studies at the Joint Turkmen-Russian School named after A.S. Pushkin.

The Chess Federation of Turkmenistan congratulated Osman and his mentor on a bright victory, noting their diligence and determination.
