Karatekas from Turkmenistan won 16 medals at the Central Asian Championship in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, demonstrating high level of training in both disciplines — kata and kumite.

 

The Turkmen team won 9 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals. Gold medals were won by - Shamyrat Khodjageldiev (two gold medals in the 6-7 age category); Aylar Azadova (in the 10-11 age category); Damir Allaberdiev (in the 10-11 age category); Medina Kazakova (in the 12-13 age category); Adylsha Atayev (14-15 years); Ibrahim Shagulyev (in the 16-17 age category); Nurgeldy Annagurbanov (in the 18-21 age category); Khemra Begjanov (in the 18-20 age category).

 

"Silver" — Aylar Ilkhanova (in the 10-11 age category); Selim Myratdurdyev (in the 21-25 age category). "Bronze" — Myakhri Sakhatova (in the 12-13 age category); Suleiman Rovshenov (12-13); Soltansh Atanyyazov (in the 16-17 age category); Serdar Bayriev (in the 16-17 age category).
