Turkmen Students Win Six Medals at International Mathematics Olympiad

The national team of Turkmenistan, consisting of six school students, won one gold, four silver, and one bronze medal at the 29th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO-2025), held in the city of Struga, North Macedonia, from June 24 to 29. This was reported by the electronic newspaper Turkmenistan: The Golden Age.

The gold medal was awarded to Hemra Gurbanov, a 9th-grade student of Ashgabat’s Specialized Secondary School No. 86, which focuses on advanced studies in English, chemistry, and biology. Silver medals were awarded to his schoolmates Atabay Akmuradov and Yenish Akmammedov.

Two more silver medals went to Yusup Resulov and Parakhat Odzharov, 9th-grade students of Specialized Secondary School No. 87 in Ashgabat, which offers advanced language studies. The bronze medal was won by Omar Dovranov, a 9th-grade student of Ashgabat’s Specialized Secondary School No. 83 with a focus on English.

This year, the prestigious international competition brought together 135 school students from 23 countries around the world.
