The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belarus organized a conference on July 23 to mark the proclamation of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
The event in Minsk was attended by heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Belarus, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and Turkmen students studying at local universities.
In his address, Ambassador Nazarguly Shagulyev emphasized that Turkmenistan’s neutrality has, over three decades, become the foundation of the country’s national identity and an effective tool for fostering regional dialogue and strengthening stability in Central Asia.
UN Special Coordinator in Belarus Rasul Bagirov highlighted the unique role of Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy in promoting a culture of peace globally and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
CIS Deputy Secretary General N. Seytimov underlined the significance of Turkmenistan’s neutral status in enhancing stability and integration processes across the Commonwealth.
The conference program also featured video clips, songs in the Turkmen language, and a photo exhibition.
