The Turkmen delegation is taking part in the in-person stage of the annual Youth Cybersport Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which opened on July 30 in Moscow.
Along with representatives from Turkmenistan, young cyber athletes from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan successfully passed the online qualifying stages.
The tournament is organized by MIREA – Russian Technological University – the basic organization of the CIS member states for work with youth, with the support of the CIS Council for Youth Affairs and the Russian Federation of Computer Sports. The games contribute to the popularization and development of cybersport among the youth of the Commonwealth.
In his greeting to the participants, organizers and guests of the competition, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev expressed gratitude for the thoughtful format of the Games, using modern information technologies. This made the event accessible and in demand for the youth of the Commonwealth countries.
He also noted that the qualities developed in the process of playing eSports, such as the desire to win, strategic thinking, attentiveness and the ability to work in a team, are important not only in sports, but also in education, creativity and professional activities.
