Turkmenistan has confirmed its participation in the 3rd Commonwealth of Indepent States (CIS) Games, which will take place from September 28 to October 8 in Azerbaijan. The country will be represented by 170 athletes.

This brings the total number of participating countries to eight. Alongside the host country, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan have also confirmed their participation. Over 1,800 athletes and more than 2,600 official representatives have already registered for the event.

The 3rd CIS Games will be held across seven Azerbaijani cities — Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Hankendi — aiming to strengthen friendship, promote youth sports, and foster intergovernmental cooperation.
