The international exhibition-fair «Kids EXPO: Everything for Children» has concluded its work in the capital of Turkmenistan. The specialized forum brought together leading domestic and world organizations presenting not only goods for the younger generation, but also advanced methods in the field of upbringing, education, and intellectual development.

International grandmaster and the Vice President of the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka Lakshman Wijesuriya shared his impressions of the exhibition-fair and his assessment of Turkmenistan's sporting potential with representatives of the media.

In the conversation, the expert highly praised the skill of Turkmen athletes and the depth of national sporting traditions.

«Turkmenistan has the strongest chess school. The country has produced a whole cohort of high-class grandmasters, and Turkmen chess players themselves have their own unique culture of play, shaped over the years, and a distinctive style. If we compare sporting strength at the highest level, Turkmen athletes undoubtedly demonstrate excellent training and the highest results. We sincerely admire this level and express deep respect for your masters», the expert noted.

Speaking about his own country's experience, Lakshman Wijesuriya emphasized that a key factor in chess success is its accessibility and popularization among the youngest residents.

«In Sri Lanka, chess is also developing very dynamically. Our secret lies in the fact that we have made a bet on teaching children. Today we have around 200,000 active chess players. It is precisely through children's clubs and school sections that the foundation for future victories is formed», the guest from Sri Lanka said.

The federation's vice president noted that the «Kids EXPO» exhibition is becoming an excellent launching pad for the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint projects between countries.

«We see enormous potential for joint work and are sincerely glad about the development of cooperation with Turkmenistan. Combining the experience of the Turkmen grandmaster school with our experience in the mass involvement of children in chess can bear wonderful fruit. Forums such as «Kids EXPO» prove that investments in children's intellectual development are investments in the successful future of our countries," Lakshman Wijesuriya concluded.
