President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation Kazuhiko Amakawa on September 5.
Thanking the head of state for the time provided for the meeting, the guest noted Turkmenistan's achievements in the economic sphere, as well as the great interest of Japanese business circles in working in the promising Turkmen market.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that the meetings planned during the current visit of the Deputy President of the Bank will provide an opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation between our countries and, taking the opportunity, wished the businessman a successful visit.
The head of state emphasized that he warmly recalls his official visit to Japan in April of this year, during which high-level negotiations were held and important agreements were reached. As noted, the economic development strategy implemented in Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding international cooperation. In particular, it is planned to intensify relations with authoritative financial institutions and banking and credit organizations.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan, which has rich deposits of natural resources, aims to develop this area through diversification, emphasizing the great contribution of Japanese companies to the effective use of the economic potential of our country. In this context, the emphasis was placed on the fact that a fruitful partnership has been carried out with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation for many years and a number of major projects have been implemented.
Noting that as a result of economic development programs and reforms in the industrial sector, favorable conditions for doing business are being created in Turkmenistan, Kazuhiko Amakawa emphasized the commitment of the Bank he heads to intensifying cooperation with our country in new areas.
The head of state said that Turkmenistan has big plans for the production and processing of natural gas, and in this regard, new opportunities for developing cooperation are opening up. Our country expressed its readiness to consider specific proposals from the Japanese side for further cooperation in new areas.
