On August 7, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs of the United States of America John Mark Pommersheim.

 

The Minister expressed gratitude to the American side for the participation of the US delegation in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

 

The interlocutors discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the US in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. They also noted their interest in holding political consultations this year.

 

In addition, the parties discussed additional issues of mutual interest.
