On September 2, a meeting was held in Beijing between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
Noting that he recalls with good feelings the meeting with the President of Turkmenistan within the framework of the Summit in the format of "Central Asia-China", the head of the PRC emphasized the readiness to work together on its results. Speaking about the importance of combining efforts to develop comprehensive strategic cooperation, Chairman Xi Jinping noted that China supports the permanent neutrality, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation to visit China and the hospitality provided, the head of the Turkmen state congratulated the leader of the PRC on the successful holding of the SCO Summit and the 80th anniversary of the Victory, and also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Hero Arkadag.
The head of state noted that the gas industry is a strategic area of bilateral economic cooperation. A clear example of this is the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, which has been successfully operating for more than fifteen years. Currently, our countries are working to expand cooperation in the gas sector, and specific results are being achieved in this area.
Having reported that the Chinese side won the international tender for the development of the 4th stage of the large gas field "Galkynyş", President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Chairman Xi Jinping on this event.
The head of state also noted that a draft General Agreement on the basic principles of gas cooperation between Turkmenistan and China has been prepared.
Noting that, at the initiative of our country, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to an international forum to be held in Ashgabat on December 12 to mark this event and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the PRC Chairman stressed that China respects the legal status of Turkmenistan's neutrality and supports its peacekeeping foreign policy.
