A meeting was held in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan dedicated to summarizing its activities for the period of January–July 2025.
During the meeting, it was noted that 14 laws of Turkmenistan and 11 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted during this period, covering various aspects of national life.
Among the adopted legal acts were the Laws of Turkmenistan “On the Approval and Entry into Force of the Civil Code of Turkmenistan,” “On the Court,” “On the Unified State Register of Voters,” “On the Creation of the Jubilee Medal of Turkmenistan ‘30 Years of Neutrality of Turkmenistan,’” and on accession to the Protocol to the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks. In accordance with modern requirements, relevant amendments and additions were made to a number of existing laws in the fields of criminal, arbitration, civil, criminal procedural, family law, labor relations, taxation, commemorative medals, administrative procedures, road transport, migration, internal affairs, and customs.
Special attention was given to the importance of the participation of Mejlis deputies in events organized on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, as well as in the preparation for the high-level organization of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
The role of further developing effective relations with international organizations and foreign parliaments and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation was particularly emphasized. In this context, the participants highlighted the significance of the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in the national tourist zone “Avaza,” and the various events planned within its framework. In particular, attention was drawn to the organizational efforts of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan in preparing the Parliamentary Forum with broad participation of countries from around the world.
