On July 18, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov reported on concrete steps being taken to strengthen cooperation with reputable international organizations. In this context, the Vice Premier submitted to the Head of State a proposal for Turkmenistan to join several documents of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), in particular, the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters and the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information. The President approved the proposal and instructed the Vice Premier to carry out the necessary work for Turkmenistan’s accession to the OECD documents.
During the meeting, the third oil loading berth of the Kenar Oil Products Storage and Loading Enterprise of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries was officially opened. The facility has an annual loading capacity of 2,060,000 tons and an unloading capacity of 1,150,000 tons of oil and petroleum products. The President gave his blessing for the launch of the modern facility via digital video communication.
Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova reported on the work to improve the country’s legislative framework and the preparations for the Parliamentary Forum scheduled for August. Representatives of the Mejlis, together with the UNICEF office, conducted seminars on children's rights.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on efforts to strengthen cooperation with international organizations on security issues. In particular, it was proposed to consider Turkmenistan’s accession to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons adopted in 2017, and to organize a regional seminar in 2026 in cooperation with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).
Vice Premier B. Orazdurdyeva reported on upcoming events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the State Health Program "Saglyk". Conferences, ceremonies for presenting gifts to distinguished healthcare workers, and exhibitions will be held in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and provincial centers.
The meeting concluded with discussions on the development of agriculture, preparations for the Turkmen-Japanese business forum, and the modernization of the country’s international airports.
