The resumption of air service between Ashgabat and Almaty as early as this year was discussed during a bilateral meeting between the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammetkhan Chakiyev, and the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabayev.

According to information published on the official website of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, the Turkmen side is currently working on restoring the flight connection, which will significantly contribute to strengthening tourism and trade-economic cooperation between the two countries.

Following the negotiations, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation in the transport sector.
