The number of registered readers in 2024 exceeded 116 thousand people, which indicates a growing interest in reading among the population. The increase in the number of new readers over the past year is especially encouraging - their number amounted to more than 9900 people.

In parallel with the growth in the number of readers, there is also an expansion of the library collection. Thanks to the regular receipt of new publications from Galkynysh book center, the collection of the velayat libraries has exceeded 448,580 copies. Readers actively use this wealth, having taken more than 433 thousand books per year. Fiction, children's literature and publications on political topics are especially popular.

It is also important to note the process of digitalization of library collections. Library staff are actively working on digitizing various publications, which makes books accessible to a larger number of readers.

The 2024 figures show that libraries in Ahal velayat are playing an increasingly important role in the cultural life of the region. The growing number of readers and the expansion of collections indicate that interest in reading in Turkmenistan is not fading, but on the contrary, continues to grow.
