On behalf of the Head of State, the head of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on her appointment to this responsible post and wished her success in her work to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
Claire Brosnan was briefed on the structure of the national parliament and the work being carried out to comprehensively modernize the country's legislation, as well as on the main directions of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state of Turkmen-Irish cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, and discussed prospects for its development. In this regard, both sides noted with satisfaction that there are broad opportunities for sharing experiences in improving national legislation and parliamentary activity, exploring the potential for cooperation between the two countries, and strengthening friendly relations between their peoples.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Claire Brosnan emphasized that it is a great honor for her to represent her country in Turkmenistan, which is widely known for its peaceful policy, and confirmed her readiness to make every effort to develop a productive Irish-Turkmen dialogue in various fields.
