Representatives of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport took part in the Regional Maritime Capacity-Building Program held with the support of Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport. The program took place in Kuala Lumpur from July 21 to 25, 2025, bringing together 29 participants from countries of Central and South Asia, as well as ASEAN member states. The initiative aimed to strengthen collaboration among seaports, promote professional knowledge exchange, and share Malaysia’s advanced maritime experience.
The program was officially inaugurated by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah. Throughout the five-day event, participants attended expert-led seminars on critical topics including port infrastructure and cargo operations planning, International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions, digitalization initiatives, and environmental sustainability in port operations.
Turkmenistan’s participation in the program reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and advancing efficiency in the maritime transport sector.
