President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed an order to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The cargo is intended for residents of the country, especially children affected by the recent earthquake. This was reported by the state information agency TDH.

The aid was sent on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. The humanitarian aid included: medicines, food products, textiles and other essential goods.

The decision of the head of state was dictated by the desire to provide support and show solidarity with the people of the neighboring state, experiencing the consequences of a natural disaster that led to human casualties and destruction.

Turkmenistan, implementing a policy of friendship and good neighborliness, considers it its duty to provide assistance to neighbors in difficult times, especially to support children in need of care. This action is another manifestation of the fraternal relations between the two countries. It should be noted that the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation provides support not only to children in Turkmenistan, but also to children around the world.

Humanitarian aid from Turkmenistan arrived in Afghanistan on September 5 on a special cargo flight of the State Service "Turkmenhowayollary".

At the Kabul airport, the ceremony of receiving humanitarian aid from Ashgabat took place in a warm atmosphere. Representatives of the Afghan side expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their constant assistance and support to the Afghan people.
