On April 15, 2025, a side event titled “Youth-Led Scientific Innovation and Policy Action: Advancing Sustainable Development” was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as part of the ECOSOC Youth Forum. The event was organized by the Republic of Uzbekistan. Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Azat Ataev, delivered a speech highlighting the key role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and emphasized that the state policy pursued under the leadership of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan is aimed at comprehensive support and realization of young people’s potential.

In his speech, the Turkmen representative linked these initiatives with the main priorities set out in the national development strategy, which emphasizes the importance of interstate cooperation, scientific and technological modernization, and an innovative approach to addressing contemporary challenges. He reminded the audience that the Central Asian Youth Dialogue, launched in October 2023 in the smart and sustainable city of Arkadag, is also aimed at supporting youth initiatives focused on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Azat Ataev underlined that these efforts to bring together youth, scientists, and entrepreneurs fully align with the policy of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan, which is focused on strengthening international cooperation, promoting innovation, and developing human capital.

In conclusion, the Deputy Minister of Education invited all interested participants to the event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (2015) on Youth, Peace, and Security, which will take place on April 16, 2025, at the UN Headquarters. According to the Turkmen side, further coordination of youth initiatives at both regional and global levels will stimulate scientific and technological progress and enhance the role of youth.
