One of the most effective mechanisms for promoting and achieving stability and sustainable development in the global and regional dimensions is the practical application of the principles of neutrality, as stated by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his speech at the General Policy Meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Based on this, Turkmenistan has initiated the inclusion of a separate item on the agenda of the current UN session entitled "Neutrality for Peace and Security." We consider this important in terms of the growing international community's understanding of the importance of neutrality and its potential and tools in the context of the UN peacekeeping strategy, the Turkmen leader emphasized.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also emphasized that, in furtherance of this approach, Turkmenistan will submit a draft resolution during the current session entitled "The Role and Significance of the Policy of Neutrality in Maintaining and Strengthening International Peace, Security, and Sustainable Development."

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also recalled that Turkmenistan will host a major high-level international forum in December dedicated to the Year of Peace and Trust, which is seen as a tangible contribution to achieving the UN's strategic goals.
