In the Champions League match against Benfica, Barça conceded in the 2nd minute, and in the 22nd, its goalkeeper Szczesny upset with an own goal, Sport24 reports. Benfica kicked the ball out of its own half, which was received by Barça defender Balde. But then Szczesny intervened: he knocked down his teammate, and Benfica forward Pavlidis scored into an empty net.
Szczesny did not stop there: in the 28th minute, he made a mistake on the way out and knocked down a Benfica player in the penalty area. Pavlidis converted the penalty, completing a hat-trick - by the break, Barcelona were losing 3:1 due to the scoring errors of their goalkeeper. In the second half, Barcelona finally got even. And it wasn't Szczesny who made the mistake: Benfica's Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin gifted Barca a goal - he hit Rafinha's head from his penalty area, and the ball bounced into the empty net. Such a funny incident overshadowed even the performance of the Catalan goalkeeper. Trubin's mistake helped Barca turn the match around and bring it to a 4:5 victory. At first, Barca missed an own goal by Araujo in the 68th minute, but scored three goals in a row at the end: Lewandowski in the 78th minute, Eric Garcia in the 86th minute, Rafinha in the 96th minute.
